Getting Ahead

Each Getting Ahead class enrolls 12-15 people, called “Investigators,” and is comprised of 16 sessions with the goal of helping people to assess their own resources, make plans for the future, and commit to working with a case worker following the end of the class for building resources and accomplishing their goals.

Partnering with Mustard Seed for the United Way Grant funding the Getting Ahead classes, the program has been expanded to consistently include a year of case plan follow up for the graduates. Mustard Seed is the fiscal agent of the grant, with Stacy Malinowski spearheading the enlarged program development. This program is rich in opportunity for those participating, and we are very grateful to be a part of this partnership due to United Way and Mustard Seed. Much will be learned and carried forward!

To-date, over 100 individuals have graduated from the Getting Ahead program and are working through their plan to prosper.
