Volunteers

There would be no GraceWay Village without the ever-present and selfless devotion of volunteers.

Their unsung contributions range from graciously serving meals at the Cafe or delivering them, at their own expense, throughout the community; suggesting ‘just the right’ outfit for a teenager from a low-income family; or contributing to GraceWay Village-sponsored events.

Volunteers’ only reward: The utmost gratitude of the Board and staff, along with countless, appreciative smiles of those whose lives they have touched.

You, too, can have an immediate and lasting impact on those less fortunate.

The following individuals represent some of the 140-plus volunteers who make a herculean difference.

Jeff Ingram

In 2019, Jeff began volunteering in the GWV Café, helping to pack and deliver 50+ hot meals to 3 area hotels where families live in temporary situations.  He has been a consistent, committed volunteer with a heart to serve wherever needed to meet the needs of our community.  His greatest desire is “to be the hands and feet of Jesus to help feed the bellies and the souls of those we serve.  It is a blessing to have the privilege to connect with these guests in this way.”

Jane Klug

A volunteer since 2019, Jane serves in a variety of ways. She began in the Clothing Boutique because she wanted to interact with clients. Now, she also assists in the café and food pantry 3 days a week, organizing the food pantry and meal distribution. “I love developing connections with our guests as they receive clothing and food, and then seeing their smiles of appreciation,” Jane says. “It’s heartwarming knowing you are helping others. As my mother always said, ‘Appreciate what you have, but help those who are less fortunate.’ This is my goal.”

Anita Wroe

A volunteer since 2015, Anita serves as the Boutique’s “quality control overseer. In addition to assisting families and teens to select their clothing, Anita and other volunteers arrange the donations in GraceWay Village’s sorting room and then display them in the children and teen areas. “I love meeting everyone. There’s a great deal of satisfaction in what I’m doing for them.”
